Where do you feel grief in your body? What does it look like, feel like?

These were guiding research questions while in a month-long residency at BigCi after the devastating 2019-2020 Blue Mountain bushfires. With curiosity related to grief and somatics Call reached out to community via social media asking the above questions. After pooling together over 45 answers several bodily locations were identified and the corresponding piece was created.

This large, life-scale cyanotype was created in collaboration with human and more-than-human community. Walking through the recently burnt bush, Call created cyanotypes with new growth. These pieces were laid onto places of the body where grief was found, speaking to the resilient alchemy present in grief.
